Subject: Defining America is a constant battle
The greatest battle of all in defining America was the American Civil
War. It basically proclaimed to the world that America should not be and
will not be a country of slave drivers.

The lesser minds among us will assert that because Lincoln was a
Republican, the current Republican party is heir to his heritage.

But ask yourselves this:

What candidate in the last two presidential elections did the white
supremacists vote for?

Gore or Bush?

Kerry or Bush?

Today's Republican Party is heir to the trappings and robes of freedom,
but not to essential principles of freedom.

The essential principles of freedom are to Republicans like sunlight is
to vampires.

It would kill them.

A Republican freed the slaves.

Learn to like it.

And yet over 90% of the descendants of slaves are Democrats.

Where did you go wrong?

What he is missing is that at the time of Lincoln, it was the Republicans
that was the more "liberal" of the two parties.

Actually, its 88%

> Where did you go wrong?

We didn't deport the Democrats?

We didn't repatriate the freed slaves?

We didn't train, educate or in any way transition the freed slaves to
freedom and self-responsibility?

You pick.

Republicans have always cherished human life, freedom and liberty, more than
Democrats.

Republicans freed the slaves.

Democrats enslaved them in urban ghettos and farmed them like animals for
vote for decades.

Not in recent decades.  You give it a lot of lip service, but when it comes
to practice, the Democrats have the Republicans beat without contest.

> Republicans freed the slaves.

Because they were the more liberal of the two parties at that time.

> Democrats enslaved them

Because they were the more conservative of the two parties at that time.
